Special Note From Your Webmaster
Because so many of our members have slow internet connections here in rural Colorado, there are no moving images, flashing banners or the like. There are also very few photos on the site itself, but there is an easy link to our extensive on-line photo album.
Please note that there is a now a reason for members to log in (not yet to register) to the web site. The club roster as well as meeting minutes and agendas are available ONLY to authorized users who log in. I've created a generic login that works for all Lions Club members. If you need these login instructions, please contact me directly.
Remember this is your web site. It's here to serve you as Lions and community members. I look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions!

February 2012 Powder Partners Schedule & Info
For those of us who already know they want to volunteer for Powder Partners, simply follow this
link to the full schedule. Lions Club (and especially Howard) are pleased to announce that Jacque Ossian will be taking over Powder Partners from Howard. To contact Jacque, call her on her cell at 303-903-7092 or email her by clicking
here. You can also contact Howie Venezia on his cell at 303-807-9999 or home at 726-1174. To email Howard, click

Here is the latest on scheduling from Howard:
We're closing February down with volunteers needed for the Surefoot Colorado Giant Slalom and Slalom races this Saturday through Monday, 18, 19 and 20 Feb. (These are positions we've filled all year to date and for non-skiers, your concerns and requests have been noted and for the most part, honored by the Resort....so, no surprises in this race package.)
We kick March off with the East Council YSL Champion races the weekend of Sat. the 17th and Sun. the 18th. Like the Surefoot races, again, there are no surprises here...and volunteers are needed!
We finish March off with two "Nationals", the NASTAR Nationals and the US Alpine Nationals. These two Nationals are why the Resort agreed to extend our earning capability to $6,000 (from the $5000 we previously had as our maximum earning amount). In these competitions, we are needed earlier in the week to stuff hand-out bags and do other Resort "base work" needed to support the weekend races...and on the weekend, we are needed for direct race support.
NASTAR Nationals:
Monday, 19 March through Sunday 25 March. All days require Lions Powder Partners' help and participation!
US Alpine Nationals:
Monday, March 26th through Sunday, April 1st. This is another week laid out as the NASTARs were the week previously. "Base" work early in the week, and race support over the weekends.
We retire after the Alpine Nationals...there are no other races this season. The bottom line: WE NEED YOU TO VOLUNTEER for all the races still to go (and listed in this message) if we are to receive our $6000 this year. And by the way, lunches will be served on volunteer days and y'all will have an opportunity to increase your comp ticket holdings (for yourselves and visiting friends and family). Remember comps earned this year are usable next year...just leave them in the Resort's bank.
Get your calendars out and pick your days! You are needed!
