Most guest speakers will be at our regular 7:30 AM breakfast meetings. We meet the first and third Thursday of each month at the Crooked Creek Saloon in Fraser.

Fraser Valley Recreation District.
Our September 6, 2007 meeting featured guests from the Rec District who informed us about the issues relating to the upcoming vote to fund several proposals for the Rec District. Those proposals fall into three primary projects. First, major repair to the Pole Creek Golf Course irrigation system and the replacement of the current clubhouse with one designed to handle the needed volume. Second, to build a small food and facilities building, including flush toilets and running water at the soccer fields on Highway 40 and CR5. Third, to build a recreation center at the south end of the meadow between Fraser and Winter Park. For more details, go to the "Link" section at the left.
CWFPP (Community Wildfire Protection Plans)
On February 1, Bill Steinmiller talked about the CWFPP being formulated in our valley. With all the red trees around us this has become a MAJOR issue.

Winter Park Resort Update December 21, 2006. Gary DeFrange, vice-president and general manager of Winter Park Resort braved a major blizzard to bring an intrepid group of Lions an update on the latest developments at the ski area. Many thanks to Gary for getting up way before dawn to clear his driveway so he could come to our meeting!
Pine Beetle Discussion May 4. Our guest speakers were County Commissioners James Newberry and Duane Dailey, as well as Grand County Director of Natural Resources Billy Sumerlin and USFS representative Craig Magwire.
